The HANG AROUND period is an informal time for individuals interested in the club to spend time with members, join in on rides, and get a sense of the MC culture. It’s an opportunity to see how well they connect with the group and whether they fit in with the values and dynamics of the club.

The process of prospecting is a customary part of motorcycle club culture, serving as the indoctrination of new members. For American Esprit de Corps VMC, it is a vital selection process that upholds the club’s high standards, ensuring that every brother who wears the patch embodies those values.

Prospecting at American Esprit de Corps VMC is primarily overseen by the Sergeant at Arms and the prospect’s sponsor. However, all members are involved in evaluating the prospect’s character, interpersonal skills, riding ability, and overall potential to become a fully-patched member. Both formal meetings and informal gatherings offer opportunities for members to assess and vote on the prospect’s suitability for the club.

American Esprit de Corps VMC is part of the Alliance of First Responder Motorcycle Clubs.
